LTE Router

3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE), is the latest standard in the mobile network technology tree that produced the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA network technologies. It is a project of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), operating under a name trademarked by one of the associations within the partnership, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute.

An LTE router is basically another name for a 4G Router

In recent UK trials in Slough, O2 recorded download speeds over 150Mbps with it's LTE service and the race is now on to see whether an existing UK 3G mobile operator will be the first to roll out high speed mobile internet LTE networks or whether international services providers beat them to the punch.

There are already HSPA+ Routers available in the UK including the Vololink VA125 and VA126 and the Zalip CDG561 will be available in August 2011 offering download speeds up to 21Mbps when connected to a suitable LTE network. Three Mobile also claim that users of LTE Modems will see a 40% improvement in download speeds across its recently upgraded 3G network.
